Mary Ellen is an avid photographer and has done several fantastic photoshoots for us in the past.

Dress up or casual - this photoshoot is however you like it to be.

Mary Ellen will then upload the best photos from your shoot for you to access on Google Drive.

Summer Horse Camp

We are offering 2 sessions of Summer Horse Camp this year!

Each session will be 5 days in length (Monday - Friday) from 9am-3:30pm each day.

Each day includes 2 riding lessons, horsemanship lessons, and stable management lesson as well as horse related fun games.

$675.00 + HST per session - you may book online to reserve your spot!

Bussing is not offered for this program at this time.

Rider Level Testing Course

Equestrian Canada offers a Rider Level Testing Certification program.

Rider Level 1 introducing the basics of horsemanship and rider skills from the first experience to English Rider Level 10 covers the basics of dressage and jumping.

The Learn to Ride program is designed to be guided by a Certified Instructor or Coach, to ensure that the concepts are clearly understood before the rider progresses to more challenging levels. The program provides an opportunity for riders to progress, demonstrating their skills through a series of increasingly complex written tests, interviews, and under-saddle jump and flat tests.

The course offered by Well Dressed Equestrian is designed as an educational, minimum of 5 day course to assist riders achieve their desired rider level certification. At the end of the 5 days, if participants feel ready, they may request to get tested onsite for an additional fee, or they may opt to continue their learning for an additional 5 days to better prepare if necessary.

Benefits of rider level certification:

  • measurable learning and success

  • opportunity to further education to become a Certified Instructor with rider Level 6

  • opportunity to further education to become a Certified Instructor with rider Level 8

What is included in each day?

  • study period geared towards specific rider level

  • presentation period to share with others

  • practice proper grooming, tack up and booting

  • stable management lesson plans

  • 2 rides per day geared towards both flat and over-fences tests

  • 8:30am - 3:30pm daily

Brandon Hall Clinic

Brandon started riding at local barns in the Durham region, competing on the Trillium circuit and going on to win the 1.10m division at Trillium Championships. He then moved to the A Circuit, where he helped develop young horses for owners in the hunter divisions.

In 2016, he turned professional and started his own training and sales business, Hall & Co. Equestrian, where he focuses on developing, and selling young horses and ponies. As a freelance rider, he has ridden for some of the top trainers and stable owners in the Durham region. Brandon is also a nationally certified and licensed competition coach, supporting riders from entry-level to competing in the US.

Outside of the arena, Brandon is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Ontario Equestrian and is a certified, provincial hunter/jumper course designer.

Margie Gayford Clinic

Margie Gayford will be coming to our stable for a clinic!

A passionate and professional hunter / jumper trainer, coach and clinician, Margie Gayford generously shares her talent and life-long expertise with each horse or student she encounters.
 

An NCCP certified Level 3 (high performance) coach, Margie thrives on teaching green to Grand Prix level riders and developing young and experienced horses. She shares the same competitive spirit as her father, gold medal Olympian Tom Gayford, in her friendly, personable way.
 

Career highlights aboard some of the horses Margie selected and developed include:

  • 2012 - 1st - $20,000 Alberta Premium Open with Calando Z

  • 2011 - 4th - $90,000 Ram Equestrian Grand Prix with Showgirl

  • 2010 - 1st - Camden Grand Prix with Showgirl

  • 2010 - Champion - Talent Squad Final with Winston

  • 2010 - Champion - Eastern Division Talent Squad with Winston

  • 2008 - Champion - 7&8 Year Old Young Horse Finals with Showgirl

A multi-faceted horse woman, Margie holds her degree in Economics from York University and spent 12 years working for Horse Publications Group as the Manager of Mail Order Sales. She now devotes her efforts to the horse industry full-time assisted by her two dogs, Annie and Zena.

horses and skillfully provides them with the tools

they need to get the most out of their performance.

Rachel Fearon Hunter Jumper Clinic

Connection & Accuracy with Rachel Fearon 

In this clinic we will work on building and maintaining the connection between horse and rider, we will work on exercises that require attention to detail, balance, & accuracy. Though challenging, this clinic will be exciting and fun for all ages/levels of riding. Everyone is welcome! 

About Rachel: 
She is a highly qualified coach, with over a decade of teaching experience, a background in both Eventing, and A circuit Hunter & Jumpers.  She specializes in confidence building and the technical development of students while keeping the respect of the horse, and fun of the sport in mind. She is a disciplined individual, but her teaching style is approachable, yet informative as she believes that not everybody or horse learns in the same way. She takes pride in finding the right balance for both horse and rider to reach their goals, wether it’s general learning, or preparation for the show ring.

Available for riding levels - Novice to Advanced.

Valerie Shaw Clinic

Valerie is a hunter/jumper coach who focuses on the correct basics of flatwork to improve both horse and rider confidence over fences. With over 20 years of experience as a coach, she has helped hundreds of people achieve better harmony with horses. Her goal is for riders to understand how to use biomechanics to improve their connection with their horse while staying safe and having fun.

Easter Musical Ride

Easter Musical Ride!

Novice group will ride from 10 AM to 11:30 AM

Intermediate group from 12:30 PM to 2 PM

Advanced group from 2 PM to 3:30 PM

What is a Musical Ride???
A musical ride is when a group of riders (in this case a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8), perform a flat riding routine to the beat of a song! Each session will be an hour and a half of RIDING - this means that riders MUST show up 30minutes prior to their scheduled time slot to groom and tack up. The first hour of the session will be learning the routine and practicing - the last 30minutes will be spent filming the ride!

Riders who participate in our riding program are welcome to bring a friend with them for an hour of horse fun! Riders will get a chance to share their passion of the horse, show their friend what they can do and then give their friend a chance in the saddle!

Please note for this month, if you are at the Intermediate - Advanced level, your Bring a Friend Day will be held on March 18th at Warden. The Introductory - Novice levels will be held March 25th at the Kennedy Location.
